We joined the Movement and are going to stay as long as the people never lose faith in Levon Ter-Petrosyan. I joined the movement with a clear conscience. We are going to fight until the end, that is, until we see Levon Ter-Petrosyan in the big chair,” stated today Jirair Sefilyan in response to those who think that Sefilyan regrets standing by Levon Ter-Petrosyan and joining the Armenian National Congress. This was the only statement made by Sefilyan on this topic. His main topic today was the foreign policies of the authorities and promised “A1+” to discuss domestic policies as well.
Sefilyan is first and foremost concerned with Turkey’s increasingly active participation in the Nagorno-Karabakh peace process and the inadequate response of the authorities. Just the fact that Serzh Sargsan did not deny the statement made by Turkish president Abdula Giul according to which Sargsyan is ready to give back the liberated lands allows Sefilyan to weigh in on the president’s acts as acts of betrayal. Sefilyan does not agree that what Giul said was a slip of the tongue and as for Sargsyan, he said: “I think that he is doing everything he can to legitimize his power.
Everyone knows very well that he is not the president elect, but he is trying to stay on top as much as he can and has found the way to do that—do whatever the great powers tell him to do, that is, befriend the Turks. If they want Karabakh, sell it to them and soon they will decide the price. One person is playing with the struggle and blood of the soldiers that died for his own interest,” said Jirair Sefilyan today as he touched upon the domestic policies of Serzh Sargsyan. Sefilyan is certain that in the end, the international community is going to draw the conclusion that it is nonsensical to negotiate any issue with the current RA authorities.
