Material on hindering journalist’s professional activity forwarded to SIS

the result of measures taken in the Investigative Division of Erebuni and Nubarashen administrative districts of Yerevan Investigative Department of the RA Investigative Committee circumstances of hindering journalist’s professional activity at the polling station N 10/29 were found. On May 14, 2017 an article was inserted in the website “armtimes.com” informing that during Yerevan City Council elections someone attacked the journalist of “armtimes.com” at polling station N 10/29 attempting to seize her phone, Armenia’s Investigative Committee reports on its website. The mentioned publication was sent to the RA IC Investigative Division of Erebuni and Nubarashen administrative districts of Yerevan Investigative Department by Prosecution Office to verify the mentioned circumstances. During preparation of materials it was found that the journalist was the accredited media representative of the RA Central Electoral Commission and on May 14 covered the voting process of Yerevan City Council elections at the polling station. On May 14, 2017 at about 12:00 the journalist took a video via her mobile phone during which a young man pushed her, hit, prevented to take video attempting to seize her phone thus hindering the professional legal activity of the journalist. Considering that in the prepared materials there are elements of crime envisaged by the Part 1 of the Article 149 of RA Criminal Code the report was sent to the RA Special Investigatory Service by subordination.
