UN Human Rights Special spokesperson Margaret Sekagyan Wednesday held a meeting with Armenia's first president Levon Ter-Petrossian, head of the Armenian National Congress (ANC) with spokespeople of ANC. ANC coordinator Levon Zurabyan reported that in the meeting in addition, also participated in the former Prosecuter Gagik Jhangiryan, former Foreign Minister Alexander Arzumanyan, Artak Zeynalyan.
RFE / RL interview Zurabyan also said that during the meeting they presented the Human Rights situation in the last 2.5 years, events, opposition to "government efforts of destruction and persecution."
"Presented a list of political prisoners, presented their cases, which is apparent is that they are victims of arbitrariness, victims of police pressure," said Zurabyan continuing. "All of these are presented, presented the March 1 events associated with the detection of the situation, the rights violations that are made by March 1 of the parents of the victims, and so on.
ANC Coordinator noted that the opposition does not expect too much effort done by the UN Human Rights Special spokesperson's visit, as UN human rights prosecution has a possive role in this.
"But we do not ever are shy to voice out and present our positions and, in general, to work with the international community to form the correct understanding of processes carried out over Armenia," said Levon Zurabian;
